Do you care about teaching, learning, and building a more sustainable future? The new Sustainability in Higher Education SIG is a space for educators, researchers, and practitioners to connect across disciplines and institutions to explore how the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) can support sustainability in higher education.
Our SIG will focus on key questions: How can sustainability be meaningfully embedded into curricula across diverse disciplines? What teaching strategies most effectively help students develop competencies in sustainability and global citizenship? How can SoTL approaches support assessment of not only knowledge, but also the values and skills needed for sustainable futures?
By bringing these questions into dialogue, we aim to co-create new approaches, collaborate on research and projects, and build a strong network for sustainability-focused SoTL. Activities may include workshops, writing groups, joint studies, and knowledge exchange across institutions and countries.
This community is open to anyone curious about integrating sustainability into their teaching and scholarship – whether you are already leading projects, experimenting with classroom approaches, or just beginning to explore what sustainability might mean in your context.
Join us as we build connections and imagine what higher education can become when sustainability is at its heart.
