The conference “Bridging Boundaries Through the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning” explored several key themes. Sessions focused on interdisciplinary work in education, highlighting initiatives to address declining STEM enrolments and professional partnerships between academics and school teachers. Participants also discussed embedding SoTL across university campuses, detailing the formation of interdisciplinary research working groups to shape teaching and learning research priorities among others. The conference emphasized the importance of collaboration, innovative curriculum development, and building scholarly communities to enhance educational practices and bridge institutional boundaries.

Cork city, located on the banks of the River Lee, is Ireland’s second largest city with a population of around 120,000 and a significant student population of over 35,000.
